Keeping Identities of Seniors Safe – Free Document Shredding:

K.I.S.S. – Keeping Identities of Seniors Safe is a free program implemented by Columbia County Clerk Holly Tanner.  You can bring sensitive documents to the Austerlitz Town Hall between December 4th – December 15th, 2017 for free destruction!

Documents will be signed over to the Town Clerk and will be placed into a secured, locked container.  This container cannot be unlocked by any County or Town employee, only by the vendor.  The shredding vendor is a trusted, bonded company.

Seniors can rest assured that their documents will be secure from the moment they are placed in the locked receptacles in the town hall.

This service is FREE to seniors and the town.  The costs are covered out of the County Clerk’s records management expenses budget which is funded through the mortgage taxes collected in the Clerk’s office.
